After purchasing the estate in 1973, it was soon evident to Ivo Nuti that something more could and should be expected from the rows. Thus, from 1997 onwards, the old vines, now scarcely productive, were gradually replaced in their entirety, with the best clones, and above all more suited to the soil and climatic conditions of Fattoria Montecchio. As often happens in large wine companies, it is not a single body, but different vineyards, all in any case around Fattoria Montecchio, each with its own specific identity and physiognomy that changes according to the exposure and height of the vineyards themselves, the microclimate and the geological characteristics of the individual soils.
